solved the megaminx intuitively>IN 3 HOURS!!! yeah!!!
hahahah.. ako yata ang unang nakakuha ng megaminx from kuya jonathan's (unscared's) batch order.. kagabi nilagyan ko agad ng lube tapos ngayong araw.. i have solved it in about a "total" of 3 hours. meaning, i have not solved it continuously. coz in between i do BLD practice for corners.. haha..so here's my timeline:
1st 30mins:
i solved the minx from the 1st face until i have one face left to solve. i used the white as my bottom face (12 faces ang minx).
2nd 30 mins:
i figured out a way to orient the edges
next 15mins:
i can orient the corners. meaning from now on i can do the sort-of-OLL-part
next 45 mins.
figured out a permutation algo and used it to randomly permute edges.. im having a hard time for this one since im staring at the minx most of the time.haha. but i have solved the minx to the point where the edges are left to be permuted.. but sadly i cannot invent an algorithm that permutes edges without altering the other parts. (This was done while ynajatrice and i were waiting for our 3-5pm summer class)
next 30 mins:
i have approached the last layer in another way since im stuck.. i tried some 3x3x3 commutators i know (luckily some of them worked) and used an edge permutation that disregards the corners.
last 30 mins:
the edges are solved. the corners are left unsolved. for these corners i used an modified 3x3x3 beginer's method algo to permute them w/o conserving their orientation. then lastly, used a commutator that orients the corners. w/o altering the other parts of the minx!!!
yeah!! now i can search the internet for more advanced algos!!!***

***BTW, it's no challenge when you search for algos right away. i have solved 2x2x2, 3x3x3(this one took me 2months, 1 month for the last layer...coz this was my 1st ever "solved" cube), 4x4x4, and 5x5x5, and now the minx at least once w/o any help from the internet... INTUITIVELY.. hahaha.. it's troublesome to solve a puzzle that's complicated but once you solve it.. i experience CUBE NIRVANA..
i challenge you all to do the same...
walang challenge pag may kodigo!!!! HAHAHA

nope, it's not chamba.. i try to do an algorithm and see it's effect on the minx then using its inverse to put back the minx to it's previous position. i have 4-5 algos for the last layer i dont know yet the notation so maybe i can show it sa bulacan cubemeet

oh is there a bragging rights thread? never read it.. or maybe skipped it... i've not visited the forums often... URL?
EDIT: already found it.. anyway, hindi ko talaga nakita toh... thanks narin.. il just post this thread's URL there..

Well, its not actually intuitive. That's major analytic thinking there.

Re: solved the megaminx intuitively>IN 3 HOURS!!! yeah!!!
Reviving this thread, ganun din ako sa Square-1. 3 hours din, hehe. Same with the 4x4 and 5x5. I use only one single algorithm to pair up the edges (which i discovered myself).
