| first of all, i don't think you've fully memorized fridrich. i haven't either. i only have like, i dunno, 10-12 more algs too. And as Jome said, fully memorized fridrich is different from fully mastered fridrich.
i think memorizing tons of algs in 3-4 days would be a headache. i haven't memorized all my algos yet but i have optimized every single one of them. so i learn 1 or 2 (usually mirrors) then try to use them in my solves, or just repeating the alg over again. I also find new ways to execute them.
but to get your times down, you need 1) practice 2) finger tricks 3)optimization of your algs 4) and most of all recognition.
and when you practice, try slow solving/turning. it helps you in your recognition. you can check out my slow turning vid in Cubing Videos. |

For starters/incomplete memo cubers, one clarification: Memorizing the system means na alam mo ang algos, plus their inverses and mirrors if there are any. Kung ganito ang ginawa niyo, congrats, tapos na ang memorization. HOWEVER, iba pa ang optimization dun. Optimization is the adjustment of every algorithm to fit your cubing style/approach. Hindi ito basta basta lang.
Kailangan mo pang ayusin ang PLLs mo, looking for tricks involving certain PLLs, moves with minimal rotations, finding good moves that will make transitions between moves faster, etc. You also need to determine if you want algos to be R-hand dominant as much as possible, or you'll take your chances with ambidextrous moves. Madami pa.
The term "full Fridrich" doesn't actually make sense, because Fridrich basically is limitless. For as long as there is that F2L move that you need to discover, or that cross approach you need to see, the system itself will not be fully learned.
So, ayun, optimization lang talaga. If ever marating mo na talaga yung tingin mo limit mo sa Fridrich (which is theoretically sub-13 or so), then that's the time to try new things (xcross, block, COLL, ZB, VH, MGLS, etc.). For now, just make sure that your Fridrich isn't only FULLY MEMORIZED but FULLY MASTERED as well. Malaki ang pinagkaiba nun.
Congratulations sa memo success. Good luck. |
very well said. this is exactly what i want cubers to understand. _________________ People say "learn F2L completely intuitively." It means you don't learn any algs. I have always been against this approach for one reason: move count. Improving F2L has a lot to do with reducing move count, and I have found that people who learn F2L intuitively often waste a lot of moves. For this reason, I recommend learning F2L by learning a list of algorithms. By the time you get to the end of the algs, you should be able to understand how they work anyway. - JASON BAUM, sub-12 |
