cubing a sport or an art...!!???..

its a growing sport... so its a sport... but its not for everybody like basketball or soccer, you had to have a determination and patience to excel on this sport..

it's not just about solving the cube... the cube itself didn't require you to solve it in the 1st place... i like the way it moved..the problems it imposed that has challenged many of mathematicians, engineers and the like.. the infinite number of ways how to solve it... and the beauty of the ability of solving it a hundred times even though the cube has quintillions of combinations...


the point is:

i think it is a great MATHEMATICAL ART... ü you dont need to solve it fast... take time to ponder on its beauty...

Ever wondered why Chess isn't in the official list of sports played in the Olympics?

The same logic follows with cubing. That's why it won't be considered a sport. At least, not yet. And never will be if in the context of physicality.

For me, it's a sport [although right now ndi pa, pero sana sooner or later >.<] considering all the factors that includes: competitions, time attacks, and many others that i think will qualify as a sport..

The way how you solve the cube, like the algos, finger tricks, recognitions, BLD, one-hand and other ways are the arts of solving it.. ^_^
