What Happened to proj 1 and 5?

Hello guys,

I was looking out the window of our car earlier today, thinking random thoughts of nothingness. Then suddenly, a big question mark fell on my head. As in a big one. We all have heard about areas in QC called "Project X" where x is a number. I have friends from project 2,3,4,6,7 but never from projects 1 and 5. So this is my question for you guys... Where are projects 1 and 5? Nasaan sila napunta? Ano na ang nangyari sa kanila?

Now this is what I call Off Topic! Off-the-roof, out-of-nowhere, trivia-like post. Well, at least it is in the right section of the forum.

Projects 1 and 5 do exist. Or should I say did? Project 1 is presently called the Roxas Area (or district) and Project 5 is now known as the Kamias Area. And hey, you forgot Project 8.

Hehe. No you don't get points because I myself am unaware of project 1 and 5's where abouts. It's just a thought pulled out of randomness. I just really wanted to know. Haha.

Why were projects 1 and 5 changed into their current names?

The term project is short-hand for the government subsidized housing project. Basically, that would mean that it is land owned by the state, with houses owned by the state, and that the rents are cheap. In essence, it is the politically correct term for a depressed/low-level residential area.

Point: I think some people just don't like to see it that way. Haha.

Good point. It can be very hard to accept for some that they are not as fortunate as others and that living in negativity would attract greater negativity. Haha. But the irony of it all is that some houses in such government subsidized housing projects can be heck big. There are large compounds, big houses and warehouses that contradict the true essence of the lands purpose. Hahaha. Crazy.
