Gas will hit close to P60.00 Empty Gas will hit close to P60.00

Post by atbondoc Tue Apr 29, 2008 1:41 pm

if posting this article I just received from email is prohibited, my apology. but please before you renounce me, kindly copy this and send to your friends, colleagues and relatives...

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT
> WILL SHOW YOU HOW
> WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO P30.00 PER LITER.
>
> This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of
> his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired
> of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer,
> take time to read this please.
>
> Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
> This makes MUCH MORE SENSEthan the "don't buy gas on a certain
> day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
> It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!! !!
>
> I hear we are going to hit close to P60.00 a LITER by next
> summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline
> prices to come down?
>
> We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies
> just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt"
> ourselves by refusing to buy gas.
>
> It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
> BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with
> a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!
>
> By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about P30.00 is
> super cheap. Me too! It is currently P45.00/liter for regular
> unleaded in my town.
>
> Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
> To think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at P30 - P35/liter,
> we need to take aggressive action to teach them
> that BUYERS control the marketplace. ..not sellers.
>
> With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers
> need to take action.
>
> The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if
> we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we
> can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
>
> How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.
>
> But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to
> force a price war.
>
> Here's the idea: For the rest of this year,
>
> DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggestcompanies SHELL and CALTEX and PETRON.
>
> If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices.
>
> If they reduce their prices, the other companies
> will have to follow suit.
>
> But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of
> SHELL, PETRON and CALTEX gas buyers.
>
> It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on
> me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is
> to reach millions of people!!
>
> I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at
> least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) and those 300 send it to at least
> ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message
> reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over
> THREE MILLION consumers.
> If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
> each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
>
> If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....
> THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
>
> Again, all you have to do is send this to 10
> people. That's all!
>
> (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you
> have to do is send this to 10 people; Well, let's face it, you just
> aren't a mathematician. But I am. so trust me on this one.
>
> How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to
> ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people
> could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
>
> I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
> Acting together we can make a difference.
>
> If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest
> that we not buy from SHELL/CALTEX/PETRON UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO
> THE P30.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN
> REALLY WORK.
>
> Keep it going

it'll be more helpful sa pinas if you do what the author is suggesting...
that's one of the trait of us filipinos, ayaw magkaisa. i believe there's no harm in the article if you'll be more perceptive and inituitive (di lang sa F2L).

sometimes i just dont get it.

arent the gas price increases actually a no-choice move by gas sellers?

i mean, they're not the ones producing gas.

gas companies are big companies simply because everyone needs gas, not because their products are expensive.

the US itself is in a crisis.

our gas isnt more expensive than theirs (correct me if im wrong)

simply put, the oil companies that produces oils are to blame i think. some have stopped their productions, some have worker strikes.

well, imo the only way we can replenish our pockets is that we do not rely on gas so much, forever. i mean, not just for the mean time to let the gas prices go down, but i do mean forever.

the current rate of oil consumption will surely deplete the natural resources this tiny planet has, in no time at all.

i do not know if its true, but my dad says people, especially in the US, must still rely on oil from the arab nations, if not, no money goes to the middle east countries and there could be trouble.

anyway, my 2 cents. but heck i wanna ask, why IS the gas prices increasing, in your opinions?

Exactly what I had in mind Sir Bryan. I was just waiting for someone to say it for me. Thank you.

Shell, Petron, Caltex and what not are just vendors. They do not have control over their prices. The law restricts them from doing so. They can only put "patong"/ mark-up to a certain extent, beyond that margin it'll rain lawsuits and rocks. As a matter of fact, minimal lang ang patong nila. If oil producing companies sell it to them at YY.xx per liter, they can only add so much. Just enough to sustain their company. Parang sa cube, may taxes, transportation expenses etc... Nobody in the right mind would like to operate a business that was created to fail. In other words, walang negosyante ang magnenegosyo ng palugi.

Okay. Eto muna ngayon. Kakain lang ako.

If you don't know, gas here in the US reaches $4. Do the math, our car can take 12 gallons of fuel.

Sad to say we're unfortunate that the purchasing power of the Php vs US$ is as we put it 1:40.. so a 1:4 price of petroleum here to the prices in the US is still, in my opinion pricey for the average Juan De la Cruz compared to Uncle Sam.. don't u think?
i think this dpendence on fossil fuels'll end when let's see..
1. they're all used up & the atmosphere's all heat up.. (we're doomed! Shocked )
2. re-"industrialization" using alternative fuel
3. cold fusion is readily available
4.. blah! blah!
ang mabuting gawin ngayon.. ligo nlg tayo sa dagat! whehe.. Ciao! afro

Gas will hit close to P60.00 Empty Re: Gas will hit close to P60.00

Post by jesus-paolo Thu May 01, 2008 1:24 pm

If you think that boycott on these companies - Shell, Caltex, and Petron - think again. If oil prices goes down, we'll stop the boycott and then they again increase prices, then we perform againg a boycott, and they lower their prices......blah blah It's a cycle.
Moreover, there's something we call a cartel - an organization of different oil companies that agree on prices they would offer...
Let's put it this way: For example the cartel consisting of Shell, Caltex and Petron agreed a price level of P50/liter (it includes each company's profits). Any amount beyong the agreed price shall be divided among members.

If SHELL offers 51/liter.
PETRON offers 53/liter.
And CALTEX offers 55/liter.

The total excess of P9.00 shall be divided among these companies
according to their agreement. UNFORTUNATELY, we don't know who the members of the cartel are (because it's a secret organization).

Let's just make way for evolution, anyway. I agree with benjediman. Let us not depend on gas forever. PEACE! Smile

The gas in US is now $4?!

Sayang lang yung invention nung isang pinoy na gamit ng car as gas is water. Kung may support lang sana sa government edi sana naminimize, kahit papaano, ung gas crisis sa pinas. Howeverm I think the government don't have any other choice cause if they do support that inventor, the world bank will not anymore lend us money. Pero today the Philippine government is into producing natural gas...
