noisy spring
i know u guys experienced it too.
the annoying sound of the spring each time you turn ur cube.
do DIY cubes also have this?

the sound of the spring is created when the end of the spring coil catches on something... i think the cube4you diys dont have this problem because the spring would be in between the washers on the screw, but if it still persists i suggest you sand the ends of the spring...

my rubik's 3x3x3 also have this annoying sound...it seems like it's gonna pop out any minute...

the problem is not just the annoying sound but it can uncoil your springs which will affect the tension, so you would end up having to adjust all the time... i think cubes on the looser side dont have the noisy spring problem.,.

i used to make noises in class when i used my old rubik's cube because of the springs, even though i turned it real slow. so like what gani said, the cube has to be loose. and now i have no probs solving the cube in class cuz of my cube4you diy. though the cube still makes the plastic to plastic friction noise... -_-
