ECE Project, I need HELP!!!

Post by Guest on Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:04 pm

please help me naman mga fellow cubers!

may project ako sa aming minor subject... ECE
kailangang gumawa ng circuit..
pero using transistors,..

at ang naisip kong gawin e stack timer...

ang kailangan nga pala e ganito;
2. may ready signal (yung green at red lights) green means ready

siguro LDR pwede, o kya infrared, lagay mo,

sinong raon? sinong mang werner? saan yung deeco?
hehe..

i think tama na yun...

hehe.. thanks anyway..
research na lang ako sa internet Smile

When ba ang submission niyo pre?
I just saw this topic, and it caught my attention since I am as well an ECE.

Well anyway, here is my simple help:

To create a timer, ang pinakacommon gamitin na device is the 555 timer.
Since your project only allows you to use transistors (though impractical), you can actually use the equivalent transistor circuit of the LM555 package. You can view the equivalent circuit on the following site:

http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/555/555.html

From that, you can now design your own timer circuit, but instead of using the LM555 IC, replace the whole part by the equivalent circuit. You can use the basic counter circuit found on any Electronic textbook (it is a very common circuit though), or the circuit found on the following link:

http://www.electronicsforu.com/EFYLinux/circuit/july2004/ci-05_digitalstopwatch.pdf

Of course, take note of the equivalent pins of the LM555 IC comparing it with the equivalent circuit.

What you have in mind, is use a sensor instead of a manual push button switch. Easiest of them, would be a light sensor using an ordinary LDR, pairing it with an operational amplifier, a driver transistor (to drive the output from the OP AMP), then a relay (acting as your switch). You could actually find this basic switching circuit on any site. Just try to browse.

Once you have combined all these circuits, you will have now have your own up-timer. And for the functionality, do not assemble the circuit yet or buy the parts. Try to simulate your circuit using available Circuit Simulation Tools as mentioned by them: ORCAD, Circuit Maker, etc. Basing from my experience, it is better to simulate circuits using ORCAD, considering it gives you almost all the data you want. Circuit Maker is an easier tool, but with significant limitations as compared to ORCAD. For the PCB Layouting part, I suggest the Eagle Tool.

Those are things that I could think of, so far.
Hoping these would do help.
Smile

thanks tol!!

hehe...

siguro, kapag may free time.. thanks...

(gagawin ko yun kapag ndi as project)
tsaka, pano ba yung sensor? light sensor? mahal po ba yun?

thanks ng madami! Very Happy

Regarding sa light sensor, as I have said, you can use an ordinary LDR (light dependent resistor). Such device is very available sa lahat ng mga electronics store..... I guess..... and sobrang mura..... 15 to 50 pesos..... depende sa size..... The behaviour of the LDR is..... dependent on the amount of the ambient light..... it changes the value of its resistance..... Utilizing this behaviour..... you can very much use it and pair it with an OP AMP to create a basic switching circuit.....

I guess that is all..... Tapos na pala yung deadline..... Smile

thanks!

uhmmm.. mechanical engineering po kinukuha ko e..
so, basic lang nalalaman ko...
as in, SUPER basic... Smile

Very Happy

thanks uli! happy cubing!

OT:

hello fellow cubers,

what if kung gawa tayo ng thread about sa profile natin as engineering student/graduate.
