Check my last post.

PREVIOUS POST

Well, already solved the Lube matter. Now, I have one question. My uncle bot me a new cube that he bought @ Toys'r'us. It was very stuck to rotate layers, so I opened it and lubed. Then I assembled it back and tried to rotate. It wasn't stuck as before, but it is far from being like my first cube. I thing that the problem is that the screws are too tight. Is it? If it is, what should I do?

(I've searched for "screws" and it returned 2 topics that were in tagalog, which I don't speak.
Regards

PREVIOUS PREVIOUS POST

Well, I've already searched on the net and in the forum a tutorial on how to lube the cube. I didn't find anything, so, I'm creating this topic so that you can tell me how to lube my cube.

I have silicon spray.

Regards

P.S.: As some of you may know, I'm portuguese, so I would ask you if you could speak in english. Smile

45 deg. method works for me very well

turn the top layer 45 deg. pry one of the edges then spray some silicone inside then put back the edge and spread the silicone (work it in) by turning all the faces of the cube or simply scramble and solve it Very Happy

Hi Tharis,
There is already and existing thread about lubing your cube.
I hope you will use the SEARCH button next time.

I type in 'lube' in the box and this is one of the threads that came up:
https://pinoyspeedcubers.forumotion.com/noob-s-area-f12/how-to-lube-your-cube-t2049.htm?highlight=lube
This is the 45-degree method that crazymrk told you about.

There is another way of lubing your cube.
Please go you youtube and search for the user, Thrawst. He has a good tutorial on lubing the cube.

Lastly, i hope what you have is siliconE spray, not silicon spray.

----

I will be deleting this thread in a week or so, so please take note of this. thank you.

It's good to know that you at least tried. But try to generalize the search more so that you'll have more options.
Thank you! and hope all is well in Portugal ^^

have you tried opening the center cap. AFAIK (as far as I know), Toys 'R Us Cubes doesn't have an adjustable screws. Unless you bought the Rubik's Assembly Kit. If It is adjusted, pop out all the center caps, and adjust the screws. Turn the cube first before you put back all the center caps.

Today I opened it and I got surprised because it is impossible to adjust... :'(

So, I'm thinking on buying some things from www.rubiks.com

Assembly Kits: I'm thinking on this one -> http://www.rubiks.com/Shop/Products/Rubiks%203x3%20Assembly%20Cube%20with%20lube%20pvc%20stickers.aspx

What's your opinion on these Assembly Kits?!? Are they resistant and for a SpeedCuber-Wannabe is that good?

Stickers: My cube stickers are damaged and getting off and I thought on buying some new PVC Stickers? Again, what's your opinion on this ones?

Any other product that you recommend me to buy?

Rubik's Assembly kit is a DIY (Do it yourself) kit. It means you can pretty much disassemble the whole thing then put it back in the way you like. (like change the core, screws, etc..) And yes its good for speedcubing.

About the stickers, Rubik's Branded cubes has PET sticker. They have a film that once it get peeled off, the color will get faded. I suggest buying stickers from cubesmith. www.cubesmith.com They offer the best quality PVC stickers and tiles for your cubes.

this is base on my experience

when buying a DIY (let's say from cube4you.com). I would rank DIY types in this manner.. C > A > D > E > F > B.

difference? im not really sure. some say its the quality of the plastic. other say its the way the cube cut corners. Smile

well... i think quality wise, rubiks.com would be better, although i've never tried it before; i'm just assuming.
but more people buy from c4y because the prices are negotiable and the quality of it is not bad. i use a type A and i get really good times with it.

as for the ranking of c4y diys. i would rank the best as type A... then...
the rest are crap (in my opinion)
