Post by neo_cuber on Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:59 am

Waaah!!!

Puro Bestseller pala binabasa mo.... hehehe!

Anyways, I dont buy books that much these days coz I end up
finishing a 500 page book in two days... (Pag maganda like HP 6)

Try reading:
Books by Jessica Zafra (Twisted Series)
(Malilinawan isip mo at sasabihin mong "Buti na lang di ko pinanood yung
"put movie title here" kahit sabi nila, maganda...)

Freakonomics by Adam Levitt
(Magbabago paniniwala mo about the "Convenient Truths/Wisdom")

History Books by Ambeth Ocampo
(You'll get to know your Local Heroes like they were living today.)

Sun Tzu's The Art of War
(Know your opponent, then you shall win many battles...
though not all of them...)

Bruce Lee's Tao of Jeet Kune Do
(Know the man, not just his movies.)

Paolo Coelho's The Alchemist
(It'll make you find your true purpose...)

And so much more!

Try reading as diversely as you can kasi minsan, yung NAPAKAPANGIT para sa iba, ay nababagay lang sayo, wala ng iba... (rhyme?)

Idol ko ung author ng jurassic park and lost world which is Micheal Crichton.
I read all of his works(ata? kc baka may work pa siya na nd ko nabasa)except "Next" kc noboringan kagad ako sa gitna. I also recommend John Sandford's "Prey" series na mga books para sa mga mahilig sa detective and police stuff. hehe..

wow! aside from rubik's cube, may mga harcore reader din pala dito. astig ah!

so far, madami na din akong nabasang books. hehe =)

Harry Potter Series, J.K Rowling is a murderer. lol.XD
Books of Mith Albom(The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Tuesdays with Morrie, For One More day), Paolo Coelho(The Alchemist and The Zahir), Nicholas Sparks(the notebook) and Bob Ong >lahat ng books nya< (maraming aral kang makukuha kay bob ong kahit halos puro kalokohan ang mababsa mo)

isama na din natin ang columns of Jessica Zafra(twisted edition)
and yung Young Blood (book edition)
Litte prince, Diary of a young Girl, Hope for the flowers... and so on...

Kay Dan Brown, I've read "The Da Vinci Code", plano kong basahin yung Angels and Demons at Deception Point kaso wala pang time. pero may copies ako.

Currently addicted in TWILIGHT series! nyaha. uber excited akong matapos na to! sobra. nababawasan time ko for cubing ngayong sembreak eh, and that's because of that!. wahahaha! yun lang po, dami pang books na magaganda. gusto ko pang magbasa. at magbasa. hehehehe

i noticed a lot of you guys like young adult fiction, i suggest you check The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, The Shannara Epic by Terry Brooks and many people's all time favorite, the Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien.

i do believe you can never go wrong with these books:

one hundred years of solitude
wind up bird chronicles
metamorphosis
the catcher in the rye
hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
american gods
the first three are good examples of magical realism, nuff said

for those who like Sci-Fi check works by Isaac Asimov, Phillip K. Dick and H.G. Wells.

books you SHOULD definitely read (pero not sure kung available to dito sa pinas)
A Staggering Work of Heartbreaking Genius
Einstein's Dreams

my two centavos hehe

my two centavos : )

Hindi ako addict sa mga books pero I love looking at the books sa mga bookstores and I hate libraries.

I don't really read much, pero when I get a book that I like tinatapos ko kaagad.

~

Books I have read and actually liked:

  • Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom
  • The Five people you meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom
  • Artemis Fowl Book 1 (lang) - Eoin Colfer
  • Impulse - Ellen Hopkins (666 pages in only 2 and a half days
  • Identical - Ellen Hopkins - Unfinished
  • Stainless Longganisa - Bob Ong
  • Kira-Kira - Cynthia Kadohata - Unfinished - I might finish it sa summer...

~

yung impulse and identical nakalagay '14+' 2 years under-aged pa ako XP
