Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Empty Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers

Post by geocine Mon Oct 29, 2007 3:42 pm

FOR BEGINNERS ( Easy LL Method, a step towards OLL and PLL)
by geocine

1. Make a Cross:
Algorithms:
Code:
F R U R' U' F'
F U R U' R' F'

NOTE: the yellow cross that will come out will look like something below ( step 2). If its already a SUNE(fish), proceed to step-3.

2. Convert 5 COLL's into SUNES(Fish)

The Facing:
Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll04printnb1 Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll05printna3 Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll06printzo0
Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll09printrm0 Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll10printms6

Conversion Algorithm:
Code:
R U R' U R U2 R'

NOTE: The top face should look like the one above and should be facing you correctly as it is showed above before executing the algorithm. So that, It would be successfully converted into a sune.

3. Orient the Corners of the Formed SUNE(fish)

The RIGHT SUNE:

Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll07printza6

Algorithm:
Code:
L' U2 L U L' U L

THE LEFT SUNE:

Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers Oll08printye9

Algorithm:
Code:
R U2' R' U' R U' R'

NOTE: After mastering the OLL sune. You might as well memorize the OLL of each figures above so that you dont have to convert it anymore. Anyway, for now, this will do.

4. Placing the corners ( A Perm )
Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers 51675632rm1

Code:
x' (R U' R) D2 (R' U R) D2 R2

NOTE: after mastering the A Perm try to lean the A' Perm which is the reverse. But you could use the A Perm twice to do the reverse case (A' Perm).

5. Permute the Edges ( U Perm )

Last Layer for Beginners and Intermediate Solvers 17733142zv3

If you're a beginner, you just need the U Perm algorithm to do the edges switching. When a perm occcurs:

H Perm - do U Perm 2x
Z Perm - do U Perm 3x
U' Perm - do U Perm 2x

Algorithm:
Code:
R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'

NOTE: in order to get much faster. Try to memorize the H, Z, U' Perms so that you don't need to repeat such a long algorithm.

I hope this helps... Cheers PCA cheers
