my classmate just told me to make a cross with the right edges..... then turn upside down...then inserting the corners.....then told me..... " look at the instructions......" >> for the second layer ...then the super duper mega fish move...... and that's it...

Re: How did you learn to solve the rubiks Cube..
i would like to remind all those who have posted and will post here that the question of this thread is "HOW we learned the cube"
anyways i learned the cube the hard way
during gradeschool, i always buy fake cubes, but i solve it at an average of 23 faces only using intuition all the way from grade1 to grade6, i annually buy at NAYONG PILIPINO, i was hooked at it everytime i buy a new cube.
but since i was just a lil kid back then, i had no idea where to ask or what to do with the cube. i wasn't able to search online for solutions and i had no plan for looking one since i wanted to solve it by myself. since i moved from malabon to bulacan and it's even rare to find fake cubes at that time, eventually i stopped cubing in high school (my old fake cubes are not that strong to last).
recently during colege, i found another cube at one of UPD's item store. at that time, i had noticed that the axes arent moving. so i proposed that i must solve it layer by layer. surprisingly, my old boardmate was also hooked by the cube. we solved the cube purely intuitively at first till we get to the last layer. but he was impatient at that time so we independently solved the last layer. he used the internet and got ahead of me.
i solved using a cube, paper and pencil. i experimented (for months and months and months) on destroying and restoring the cube and jotted down the effects of each OWN algorithm (i never knew it was called algorithm back then)i try to execute. i used more of conjugates and surprisingly i solved the cubes using MY INCOMPLETE SET of ALGOS...
from there.. i bought a TRU cube and used a free LBL tutorial from TRU.. after that.. i used pertus, then fridrich's.. THE REST IS HISTORY ü
