Suggestion: PCA ID

panu mo bang masasabing PCA ka ?

Personally, I'm not up to it. Anybody could just come up to you and say he's a member, even though he may not be registered, and may use a real member's name to show "proof". Anyways, even as we consider ourselves an association, there's no real membership requirements, etc. In reality, this is just a forum. I'm not trying to sink this idea though, but I'm just saying we are still not concrete enough. Pretty soon we may reach hundreds of thousands of members. There's no exclusivity, don't you think? And one thing, how will we distribute those "I.D.s" nationwide? There are cubers in almost all parts of the country.

Well, bottom line is, the most concrete notion is that we are members of a forum. I still am yet to believe that we are concretely members of an organization.

Though, I believe the true members of the organization are those who organizes the competitions we so much enjoy. Salutations to them

@ Bryan: I was wondering why we're called an association, whenever people ask like " How do you join PCA " and I'm like, " just login on the site and you'll see. " this really is a matter that we need to put attention to. Cubers are coming out everywhere. If we want to make this tight, we hafta start doing concrete action now.

actually not all members from this site is filipino, Dan Harris I think is in here. Is he a PCA member? how about the one that was going to be our delegate for PO2k7 per ferlund

so anong sukatan para maging myembro ka? pag nag post ka ng isang beses, pca ka na? pag nkapag log in ka, pca ka na? pag marunong ka mag solve ng cube? pag gusto mong matuto? pag bumili ka ng cube? pca ba ako?

there is no need for ID. There are user in here that do not post, does that mean they are member?

oo nga parang ang gulo... bkit hindi natin itry pansinin ang "activity" ng isang member.. then if his active enough he will be a true PCA member. not just anyone who wants to cube or learn how to cube... dapat at least kahit paano may requirement to be a member... kasi for example ganito...

Situation:

Cuber nasa public place

People: Wow ang galing mo naman magcube... Paano mo natutunan yan?

Cuber: ah practice lang po and with a little help from PCA. kung gusto nyo matuto you can go to their website and join.

Pag-uwi sa bahay nung people:
Register na sa PCA
Pero hindi pa marunong magcube
Tapos tatamarin kung mahihirapan
PCA member nga ba sya?


Sakin lang parang mas maganda kung ma identify or maseperate ang meaning ng isang PCA member at isang PCA "forum" member.... db?

sa number ng posts? pano yung mga taong dumadami lang ang post dahil sa kakawelcome? or sa pangungulit sa off topic? does that make them more eligible to become members than lets say jeremy nable?

kung those who have joined competitions naman, then RCF who is supposely the Godfather of cubing in the philippines, the one who started it all(LOL), isnt a member? or even at jhew, who i know is very active in PCA activities. isnt she a member?

just a thought:

i just joined yesterday in this forum and i was really thinking, how do i become a member of this association? reading the posts, it made me realize na.. wow, memeber na pala ko, just like that!! weeee.... pero yun nga, i think along the way there should be a concrete requirement on how you could be a member. one would be if you have joined a phil. tournament, just like baruhbal said.

but for now, para sa akin.. ang pagiging PCA ko ay...

* pag-rurubik's habang walang ginagawa or kahit may importanteng kailagang gawin.. lol...
* pagsali sa forum na ito
* to be able to meet fellow cubers
* having that erg to play my cube..( parang droga na nga ito eh )

para sa akin, uhmm.. member ka ng PCA dhil may purpose ka sa pagsali mo dito ryt? khit hundreds na ang members nito, lahat ba yang mga yan ay may purpose ng pagsali nila? meron nga .. ang maging member ng PCA .. magkaroon ng mga kaibigan .. matuto magspeedcubing .. di lng dun nasusukat ang pagiging member ng isang samahan .. kelangan ay may kapasilidad ka upang maging myembro nito .. kumikilos ka ndi lng para sa sarili mo, kundi para din sa samahan .. nakikipagtulungan ka sa mga "myembro" upang umunlad an samahan .. di din cguro kelangan nkasali ka sa competition ryt? sa tingin ko lng po ah .. pero dpat ang mga krapat dpat lng ang maging myembro nito .. pero ang tanong .. cnu2 at panu mu makikilala ang mga krapat dapat? .. ang gulo nuh?

last time i spoke with kuia lester.... he said that he is trying to do something for PCA to be a recognized org..

if that happens (hopefully ^^) then maybe we could work out on the id system

sabi ni kuia lester.. magkakaron daw ng membership fee. 100php.. pag di daw nagbayad di n mkakapag post sa forums.
pero nagbibiro lng ata xa.... ahehehe,,
