My theory on CYCLO Silicone Spray

Based on what I’ve read in a couple of threads, petroleum jelly eats up/melts cube plastic. Can someone support this? A scientific explanation with reference would be helpful.

Just in case some of you don’t know CYCLO Silicone Spray contains petroleum distillate as indicated in its canister. If so, then why does it have a positive effect on the cube?

Since CYCLO is a silicone spray, I assumed that its petroleum distillate content is only minimal. Thus, it melts only a small amount of the cubies’ plastic. As an effect, it smoothens the surface of the inner cubies by melting extra plastic/uneven surfaces. After several times of reapplying, the effect of its “minor melting property” would have accumulated. After a couple of application, the sticky substance inside the cube which I suppose is the product of the petroleum distillate and melted plastic will be noticeable. And after numerous application would eventually melt a huge part of the inner cubies.

It follows that after attaining the most favorable state of the cube, in terms of the level the inner parts of the cubies are smoothened, I recommend from that time on using non-corrosive lubricants or those that of pure silicone compounds such as HBC hair cuticle. In effect, it will lengthen the optimal state of the cube.

These are only my theory. Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks for reading.

With or without lube, there will be always something that will change after breaking-in the cube due to friction. Bakit ba daw maganda ang Jig-a-loo? Kase nagmemelt ng plastic, kaya bakit naman naging pangit ang Cyclo, or even ANONG NAGING PANGIT SA PETROLEUM JELLY?

jig-a-loo is highly corrosive but is good when used lightly pero pag naparami ang lagay nakakasira ng cube, ive read somewhere. so far, wala pa akong naririnig na nagsabing panget ang cyclo pero marami akong naririnig na negative sa petroleum jelly.
