3 Kings - - - A Misconception
Taken from:
http://www.christiananswers.net/christmas/mythsaboutchristmas.html
Did three kings riding camels come to Jesus' birth?
The Bible does not say that any kings or camels visited young Jesus.
Wise men riding camels.
It does report wise men ("magi") came, but it does not say how many. None of the early Church Fathers, suggested the magi were kings. Since the word "magi" used in the Bible is plural, there were apparently at least two, and there could have been more -- even several more. The Bible simply mentions three costly gifts they presented -- gold, frankincense and myrrh, but this does not necessarily indicate the number of magi. There is also no proof of what country these men came from.
Also, the wise men clearly did not visit Jesus when he was still lying in the manger, as is commonly shown on greeting cards and in plays. The magi did not arrive until sometime after Christ's presentation in the Temple in Jerusalem (Luke 2:22-39).
Child - Jesus Christ.
At this time, Scripture calls Jesus a "child," not a "baby." It is possible that little Jesus was walking and talking by then. Based on the calculations of King Herod and the magi (Matthew 2:16), Jesus could been two years old or under.

Re: 3 Kings - - - A Misconception
In the light of debate and argument, I believe it is allowed. However, if it does go down to a debate on religion and stuff, it should be closed.
Let's just assume that this is a request for light forensics and debate work (for forensics does not always concern dead bodies).
On topic, I agree with the topic posted in the link. Barring all supernatural and religious stuff, and assuming that all involved are just human, with no divine intervention, there is no way that someone would be able to know in advance where and when a baby is to be born.
Just my common sense kicking in.

Re: 3 Kings - - - A Misconception
i have chosen this topic with the assumption Jome states before this post...
from: dictionary.reference.com
religion
-noun-
1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
the focus of this topic will be the 3 kings' existence...
Assuming (not believing) that Christ, if ever he existed, was born, were there 3 kings who visited him?

Re: 3 Kings - - - A Misconception
Maybe the thread I started back then can be linked to religion more than this, but it really never talked about religion. I just wanted to know something.
Anyways, my reply on the topic would be:
Yes, there are wisemen and it never specified how many they are. That's why we, I can't specify who I'm referring in "we" sorry, don't celebrate three kings celebration.

Re: 3 Kings - - - A Misconception
nice, ngayon ko lang napansin yun a ..
di ko rin napansin na, oo nga nuh, magkaiba ang baby Christ sa child na Christ ..
nice .. new learnings .. i agree rin .. kaso mejo iba-iba narin kasi turo ng simbahan kaya magulo .. due to movies, etc... =))

Re: 3 Kings - - - A Misconception
The biggest thing in the argument is that the Bible, or at least, the text that contains the information of said magi, is ASSUMED true.
Not saying much, though, haha.
Don't nobody continue the discussion from my post, it may lead to religion-based posts
(P.S. I am a believer, though )
