math and cubing... bestfriends?!

ayon sa aking pag-aaral sa unibersidad ng aking kwarto...

i mean, tunay ba na kapag magaling magsolve ng cube, magaling sa math?
especially yung mga nagsosolve ng hindi nagpapaturo o nagreresearch...

wala lang, pansin ko lang...
hehe...

lahat kasi ng kakilala ko na nagrurubiks, may dunong(ang lalim) sa math e,,,

i think so. i think (just my opinion) that the same parts of the brain are being used for math and speedcubing. kasi, puro analysis (f2l slow solving) ang kailangan mo para mag-improve. kailangan mo din ng i-program sa utak mo ang mga algorithms as if bahagi na siya ng system mo. the same thing with math, may mga formula na sobrang basic na dapat sa iyo that you just have to use them upon your disposal when soving really difficult math problems. (unlike studying language and literature which uses a totally different part of the brain - puro reasoning naman ang gamit mo dito).

hindi magaling sa math ang marunong mag-cube since there are tutorials ngayon available sa internet, one has the option not to solve the cube in a mathematical manner..

but in rephrasing the question:

magaling ba sa math ang kayang mag-paliwanag kung paano nag-wowork ang rubik's cube using group theory (w/o any reference sa internet)?

my answer is, "he may be a mathematician tulad ni benjo".. haha

Nope. Walang kinalaman ang Algs sa Log. That's what most people think.

hmmmm...seguro, usually in our class those who speedcube are the ones having high grades in our math class.. that's my observation..

Simple answer: no. No need to expound this. Kahit sinong magaling mag-memo, research, or what-have-you eh kayang maging magaling sa cube.

Although yung mga pinakamalulupit sa cubing world, mathematicians talaga, tulad nina Pochmann, Stern, Garron, and Bruchem.

"especially..." does not mean your limiting the question sa "mga nagsosolve ng hindi nagpapaturo o nagreresearch..."

so ibig sabihin, hindi mo parin tinanggal sa saklaw ng tanong yung mga nagresearch.. haha.. sana sinabi mo "excluding people who used other sources to solve the cube"..

kung mgaling ka talga sa math (logic part and reasoning) makakgawa ka ng algo mo..

on the other hand kung malakas ka mag memorize kaya kya mo rin isolve ang cube kahit walang logic or reasoning (oo meron kahit konti) .. kasi may mga cubers na base lang sa algo, di nila tinitingnan kung papaano gumagalw ang mga cubies.. hehehe..

sakin math at physics ang mag best friend.. math proves physics.. hehehe.. example newton's thermodynamics can be prove prove by using linear algbra concept..

physics use mathematics for every problem you encouter

they are the ones that really are related to each other

erno rubik built the cube to teach geometry i think..so that's math..pero tingin ko walang koneksyon ang bilis ng pagcucube sa ability ng isang tao sa math..i'm pretty good at math..pero mabagal ako magsolve..tamad magmemorize at kung anoanopa..

if you want a deeper understanding of the cube, definitely you need to be inclined to math.. just look at the inventor of the methods(fridrich, petrus,roux,pochmann, garron, hardwick etc) and their background... surely one cannot come up with elegant solutions to the cube if not for a deep knowledge of higher mathematics or the sciences...

and how do you define "magaling mag-solve"...is it speed, fewest moves or creating your own method...

wala ytang connction yung speedcubng at math....hehehe...base on my exprnce...bubu aq pgdating sa math ehhhh...i mean sa lahat ng subjks...tpos,mas mabils pa aq kysa mga frends ko na top sa skol nmin....hehehe
