How long would it take to be sub 20?
Tanong ko lang po kung gano katagal bago k magkaroon ng sub-20 average
kasi my current average is sub-25, and im already using fridrich for 4 months

naka hindi totoo yan kasi kailangan nang weeks para matoto ang lahat nang algorithms.

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
it takes time para maging sub20..it takes a lot of practices..tapos dapat slow solve..im not yet sub20..pero inconsistent..halos parehas tau ng prob..sub21 ako..and 4mos speedcubing din..d nmn bglaan ang pagiging ganun eh..si nakajima kac..gifted tlga..saka adict..ahehe!

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
oo nga.. daming factors to consider e, it varies widely..
take for example..
u need to have the right cube for your cubing style,
learn the whole fridrich/other system,
optimyz,
lots of free time,
practice gazillion times..
and you need special skills to achiev such great leap or short cut if you may call it to achiev sub-20 in the shortest posible time..
skin mtatagalan pa bgo mka sub 20 d ko pa tpos OLLs e,
busy..
c nakaji nka sub-20 in 2 mos n sub 15 in 5 mos..
pro take the best example, c kababayan Durben the Wonder Kid
nka sub-15 ave in 3 mos!
dpat pa akong mg learn sa lahat ng mga mamaw dito,
salamat tlaga sa forum nto dami kong natutunan.. so..
practice lng nang practice.. ciao!

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
The fastest improver i know in the philippines is Durben, he was sub 25 on his 2nd month. and after three months he became sub15. I don't know how he still have his fast times even though in a competition and his timeline of improvement is way faster than mine.
This is my timeline of improvement:
1st day, learned first layer
2nd day, learned 2nd layer
3rd day, learned to orient and permute last layer
7th day(1st week): 2 minutes(my first timed solve)
2nd week: 1 minute and 40 seconds(still using the beginner's method) and I started learning the Fridrich First Two Layers, 7 cross cases on the OLL and the 4 edge and 3 corner PLL.
1st month: SUB-40 (I started learning the remaining PLL"s except for the N's)
2nd month: SUB-30(28.xx seconds) I started planning more F2L shortcuts
3rd month: SUB-25(Started learning some more OLL's and the N permutations
4th month: SUB-20(19.77)(started learning more OLL's
5th month: 18 seconds average(started learning extended crossing but I still rarely do it until now and partial edge control)
6th month: 17 seconds average(Learned all OLL's except 6 of the "No edge oriented Cases")
7th month: 16 seconds average(slow solving)
8th month: 15 seconds average(slow solving)
Last week I had a 14.72 seconds but I am not sure if it is consistent...
Now what will I learn???? I have to learn to relax during a competition!!
So all those who have fast times, don't forget to learn to relax because during the Philippines Open, my time was brought down from 15 seconds average to 19 seconds average because of nervousness and my Philippines Open average is slower than the Cebu Open average that I had because in the Cebu open, there were fewer audiences...

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
it depends upon you nmn eh
kung ganu mo kabilis
na memo ung mga algs
ung pg fingertricks mo
ung execution
(parehas ln ata un)
un...
bsta it takes tym
depende sa cuber yan
hehehe
cubemore cguro...

practice lang ng practice!
un lang..hehehe..
o kaya i-memorize mo lahat ng OLL and PLL algs..
depende sayo yan..

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
ngak..ako nga 57olls/21plls and some advance f2ls n eh inconsistent padin..u cant rush things kac..u have to be patient..and if u really want to be sub20 asap..work hard..i mean cube more..

Technically speaking, it would take you only 19.99sec the very least to make it to sub20...hehe

kailangan ba talagang ma-memorize lahat ng OLL at PLL para lng maging sub20??

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
i am a petrus user, at medyo mahirap para sa mga gumagamit ng petrus ang sub20 in short span of time since we limit ourselves to algs used in actual solving...
but currentl, i am sub23 in 7th month today... at aroung 5 hours of cubing at night since on the 3rd month (working kasi)...

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
well, obviously, iba-iba ang pace ng mga cubers. but, on the average, i think that with constant practice, and constant alg memorization, most cubers can be sub-20 in 3-6 months kahit hindi pa saulado lahat ng OLL, as long as memorized na ang f2l at PLL algs. there are also other factors such as the natural skill of the cuber(there seems to be a genetic attribute), and age(it seems that younger cubers/teeners have more time to practice than working adults, and their brains are still more active and energetic), my big brother (pajo) told me so. he's 23, and he's been having a difficult time keeping up with the younger cubers with his work, and other stuffs around. he started cubeing more than a year ago, and he's not satisfied with his progress.

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
Harris Chan always average 15 seconds when he was completely doing two-look OLL, so don't get discouraged:)
But when he completed his OLL's, he improved to 12-13 seconds.
But when he completed his OLL's, he improved to 12-13 seconds.

Re: How long would it take to be sub 20?
i've been having solve which are sub-20, i think 1 sub-20 out of my 20 or 30 solves, and ive memorized all PLLs and 40 OLLs, but my main problem is i'm not that very consistent in getting sub-20 so my average is then stuck at sub-25,
