Kung Fu or Wushu?

Hello po alam ko po matagal na po ako hindi nag popost kasi po may pasok na po ako eh pero tanong lang po ano po better kung fu or wushu?

Ako gusto ko ng martial arts, pero wala akong alam. ahaha. pero mas pipiliin ko kungfu ^_^

Kung Fu --- It ihas a broader meaning than Wushu.

Wushu is more of an exhibition sport than a martial art, although it has some elements of a martial art. (There is also Sanda, a wushu category that focuses on full contact fighting with head gears and gloves, etc.)

There are many kinds of Kung-fu, like Wing Chun, Choy Lee Fut, Hsing Yi, Baguazhang, Wudang, Shaolin, Hung Gar, etc. It's a lot. Here in the Philippines the most prominent is Tat Kun Tao or Kun Tao, whatever, kung-fu mixed with FMA elements.

But don't take both as two different things, "Wushu IS Kung-Fu", although, as I said, Wushu is focused on exhibition sport, or more precisely a type of sport than a martial art. (Although its still a Martial Art, its hard to explain)

NOTE: Read before you post, and post something that's relevant. I've brought down my post several times now so that people can read it. Yet you keep posting like you didn't actually read it. Post something relevant to this topic please.

hmm.. i like wushu..

hmm... i went under wushu training... my teacher was from china.. the "ka double" of jet li in the movie Hero... his name was ping lei (duno the spelling) he can even ghardly speak english.. he can execute 720 degree butterfly in the air! waaaah! truly amazing.. but actually, wushu is under kung fu.. wushu is more on weapons like spears, swords, daggers and etc and how to disarm them... wushu really needs gracefulness in order to perform moves properly...

btw... its hard to answer ur question. its like asking what is better, a dog or a German sheperd?

you studied wushu?was it hard.............my mom said if I will be an honor student ituloy ko po muna taekwondo hangang 2nd dan tapos stop na ako so either kung fu or wushu nalang ang tatake kong martial arts.I take taekwondo but i like chinese martial arts better such as kung fu and wushu

hmm. oki lang naman.. masaya na talaga kung nasa weapons kana.. dapat nga lang mabilis ka.. d naman talaga rigorous ang training namin.. haha... magagamit mo rin taekdwondo mo sa wushu pero magagamit mo na talaga kamay mo den do some airstunts. haha... wushu ka!
