Cube becomes sticky with silicon spray??

hi guys,,

Just want to ask about sa paglubricate ng cube... Nagtry kasi akong bumili ng Silicon spray then apply sa cube ko. Pero instead na bumilis ang ikot parang lalong naging sticky.. lalong bumagal ang ikot.. bakit ganun? advise nmn guys.. mali ba nabili kong Silicon spray?

My nilagay ka na bang inang lubricant like petroleum jelly or ibang lube? pag meron...lalagkit talaga yan pero kung ung silicon lang...baka naman sobrang dami or di pa sya masyadong tuyo.

bro' wrong section po ito.. btw.. its "SILICONE" spray not silicon magkaiba po kasi yun.. for the brand nman its "CYCLO SILICONE SPRAY" po tested..hmmm.. pag nagspray ka kasi ng silicone sa cube mo as in yung kakaispray mo lang talagang sa umpisa mejo malagkit yan pero habang tumatagal lalong gumaganda at umeepekto yung lube sa cube mo at gumanda siyempre ang turns mo dahil sa lube.... minsan ganyan talaga pag nasobrahan.. hmm.. para kasing floor wax yan.. eto gawin mo, baklasin mo uli yung cube mo and punasahn mo ng basahan lahat ng cubies para maging malinis then assemble uli.. then try mo na uli magcube..

I think more people will help if you mention which cube did you lube and what brand is the silicone.

well, this is exactly what happened to me, this is what I did

1.sand cube
2.break in for 2 weeks
3.lube

baka overlubed. o kaya kung walang lube dati yung cube mo tapos mejo gamit na may mga powedered particles na ng plastic yan sa loob, paghumalo sa lube lumalagkit yun

i think overlube k lng tol .... ska tol inde SILICON SPRAY

dapat SILICONE SPRAY..

if overlube yan try mo patiyuin muna or gamitin mo muna ng gamitin pra mag spread ng maaus ung lubericant sa cube mo.

saka depende din nmn sa cube na nilube mo ehh. may mga cube na sticky after lubing tlga..

pero kung SILICONE SPRAY ang ginamit mo wag kng matakot overlube k lng.

a few questions:
what brand did you buy?
is it silicon or SILICONE?
did you clean the pieces of your cubes before lubricating it?

-cyclo,mag1,crc,3 in one are some brand most cubers use.
-it must be SILICONE with "E"..
-you should clean the cubies thouroughly before applying silicone or else it won't have an effect to your cube's performance..it might even make your cube stiffer...

... and oh, try wiping the cubies a bit after lubricating.

Hi guys, thanks for your comments..

Eto mga naging problema and solutions:

I applied it sa lumang rubik's cube ko, ayun lalong nging sticky, pero i think dahil yun sa petroleum jelly na nilagay ko,, pinunasan ko then apply ulit ng silicon,, ok na..

Then I applied din sa 4x4 na eastsheen, sumikip ang ikot.. I found out may mga dust particles nga, disassembled ko then pinunasan ko yung pieces... ok na din..

I also applied sa white DS 3x3, ang lupet super duper dulas..

But confused lang ako.Silicon Spray (without "E") yung nabili ko sa Ace Hardware, MR. Mckenic ang brand name.

Magkaiba ba talaga yun?( Silicon and Silicone?)

feel free to correct me if I'm wrong guys.. ^^,

This is what I know...

BOTH silicon and silicone are lubricants...

however, if you are lubricating plastics, it is advisable that you use siliconE..
I'm not sure what's the effect of silicoN to plastics though..
but to be on the safer side, i suggest that you use siliconE for cubers proved that this one is safe for plastics.
"lube at your own risk"

tseng_cube,umm wak lang maxdo dami ng spray kasi di na lahat ng skin ng cubes ngyun ganun.tgnan mo DS mo ok na ok pero TRU d(mali ba ko),diba?ung luma na TRU sobrang ok mejo madame lube dun kaso mtgal before maging ok,mga 15 mins or 20 mins na dercho derecho lng then un,tpos hayaan mo mga 1 hr and try nlng ulit... lml

try to spray in a moderate supply of silicone next time... pero try setting aside for a day or two... that might do the trick.
