Breaking 15s-barrier

I've been really worried...my improvement has drastically declined...I can't make it to 14.xx ave..I'm stuck at 15-16s average...I'm asking those who broke the 15s-barrier..hope you could help...I think I need tips...I know it's just same saying such as "practice, practice, practice" but anything more?...besides practice, what might help me though?...salamat sa tips in advance

@shiner: sub15 kna?...how'd you break the barrier bro?..anyways, thanks...i think my first goal would be the f2l...i have 10-11s f2l and 3-5s LL...

I am not a fast cuber like you but I think i'm on my way there (..dream on)...just wanna share, I am following the Training Tips/Guide stickied on this Speedcubing Forum (the one on the top authored by Sir Pajodaep).
There are tips on reaching certain averages and the sub15's is also included.

jeffer... sub 20 lang ako..

nakita ko naman ung solves ng mga sub 13.. f2l nila mor or les sub 8 or sub 6... probably yan cguro.. dont be in a rush.. cguro ur not stuck, ur just slowly improving... u just cant see it nor notice ur improvement coz your level as you go along improvements are slowly done...

yup it did help a bit...but there wasn't any 15s ave there..nevertheless, I learned quite a mouthful tips


@syalang: yup that's what I said, I'm stuck at my present average not with my improvement though...A second is really hard to improve when your down to sub20....thanks bro...I think I'm going to a training camp for f2l-time-reduction...ehehe

tanong lang po, nagawa niyo na po ba lahat ng nakalagay sa mga sticky or mga tips na nakalagay sa forum na ito?

example, metronome and slow solve, nag eextended cross ko ba?

paki post rin po yung mga alam niyo na.. important po kasi yun para mabigyan ka ng tips ng mga sub 15 jan.. Malay ba nila 7 lang OLL mo diba?

Anyway, di po ako sub15 but you can try folowing my suggestion

tama ka, practice practice at practice, pero alam mo ba dulo niyan? practice parin eh.. sa lahat ng bagay, kelangan ng practice, kahit yung bago nating nalalaman, kelangan practicin kaya, practice talaga eh hahaha..

@i.luv.cube: i don't use metronome, i don't patronize extended cross unless i see a very good opportunity, i keep doing slow solves, PLL attack, OLL & PLL reviews...also, I have more than 57 algs for OLLs and more than 21 PLL algs...also, i hope I made that clear I was looking for more specific tips for practice...with all due respect you don't need to follow all tips and all advices as not all of them work for everybody...want an example?...some cubers think being color neutral really helps but it doesn't work for me eventhough I've tried it a couple of weeks...I'm sorry bro I just find your post offensive to my side...I emphasized "mouthful" since it was marami in the full sense of the word...I'm not that stupid naman cguro not to try those "mouthful" tips I got don't you think?

thanks for that...I'm on a vacation di2 sa Negros eh so la sakin video cam...maybe pag-uwi ko sa Cebu I'll make a video...by the way, I'm not sub15 yet,..that's what I'm trying to be or break...competitions? maybe I can join when it's held in Cebu I hope we'll have some here...

I'm not fast but here is my view.

it's all in the mind. isipin mong hindi barrier ang 15. Dapat ang only barrier mong iniisip ay 9second average. tas mag-iimprove k n nyan.

oh and do also focus.. really focus on f2l =)

eto po.. practice, look ahead, slow solve.. practice mo po yng f2l ng sub 10.. hhe.. yan po yng naiisip ko pra mka sub 15 ka ng consistent.. yan po yng mga gsto ko mgwa, hehe.. aun.. god bless po..

let's be respectful to everybody in this forum, respect each and everyone's view of cubing, techniques and practices..
if you don't want to be commented on your post, then don't start a thread or don't post a reply at all..
we just want a sharing experience here, besides if you're already fast, try suggesting your method or way of practicing..
just don't ignite a conflict here..
one thing's for sure...
we'll all be waiting for your video solve when your vacation is over...
just to prove that all are headed in the right direction...

Please show your CFOP times, like show your cross+f2l average of 12 or something, show your OLL times, PLL times and a video of you doing an average of 12 will be excellent if you want other people to help you because they need to see what's keeping you from achieving your goals. Another thing, don't be mad if your being criticized by other people, be open for this kind of people even if they are just a waste of your time or even if you think they are not much of a help.

OT: Siguro naiinis ka sa iba kasi parang nagiging mayabang na ang dating, pagbigyan mo nalang kasi feeling siguro nila magiging MOD sila dito or magkakakulay pangalan nila pag palagi sila tumutulong or naninita ng mga mali, yung iba jan nagiging spammer narin mismo kakasita nila, dagdag lang sa dumi ng forum na to, kaya ang dami na nagalisan at nagquit na mga dating mabibilis na cuber dahil sa mga ganitong klaseng tao, hehe thanks.

I'll have my ave of 12 video as soon as sembreak's over...anyways, enough of misunderstandings and conflicts..My bad, sorry...so, anything more to add people?...here are somethings I noticed from my solves:

f2l for like 10-11s <<I'll do more and more lookahead and optimization (thanks y'all)
takes me quite a while recognizing an OLL <<I'll do slow solves more to improve this and the f2l (thanks to syuhei for that)

I have quite slow recognition on PLL though I can solve it in any angle <<I'll need help here I guess

And I often do have lockups <<can't seem to find a good cube though, don't wanna spend so much on expensive ones ...I'll improvise more on my fingertrix



(again sorry, my bad...after all this is not a conflict thread rather a helping one...thanks)

work on f2l.. If your intuitive f2l then learn some algs to lessen the the move count, if your not then learn better f2l algs that suit you better and has lesser moves..

all i can say is improve mo pa po look ahead mo. .thats all. .

BTW, I pmed someone (speedcuber not from Phil.) to watch one of my normal ave of 5 solves...1st thing he noticed was my grip, he said it's not that consistent..I asked him what that means, then he said it should be in a way that would make me comfortable coz my hands don't look comfortable enough...kung sa pinoy pa, alanganin ung grip ko lalo na ung pag-facechange daw...so he said: try to search for a PLL trainer and just do it...he said it improved well his grip on the cube...kaya eto napaisip ako..hehe thanks BTW...(I'll hide just his identity since he wants privacy daw, so respect ko nalang)

you're right, use extended cross when there's oppurtunity.. don't force extended cross

tama ka rin, not all works for all and nakalagay naman di dun sa mga postn a yun eh

at, sorry nga pala if you find my post offensive on your part.. mali rin ako dun sa part na "nagawa mo na ba lahat" kasi not all works for all nga naman, haha.. sakin kasi ang panget nung adjective na "mouthful", para sakin nagmumukhang nonsense sila, haha.. sorry naman...

So now, you have completed CFOP and you're also an extended cross user (when there's an oppurtunity) so ayun, makatulong siguro din talaga ang video.. Most likely f2l tayu nagkakatalo, dun talaga matagal eh..

I have the same dilemma. I've been stuck in the 15's for a loooong time, that's why i quit cubing.

Di pa po ko sub 15's pero palagi kami mag kasama ni Simon Moon and even him eh winowork-out ang kanyang time...Ang problema nya daw eh ung ibang execution ng PLL eh mabagal coz of not comfortable finger tricks and it really affect talaga ung time mo if it is not coordinated...moon stated.
