you will be able to cut corners, in a way, but cubes will always be misaligned, you will have numerous lock-ups, more pieces will keep popping out.

springs do not give the ability to cut corners (to debunk any myth). The looseness of the screws does that. but we need springs to hold the cubies back in, especially when we are cutting corners.
