WCA Regulations 2008 Draft

All changes are shown in orange in the draft file, although some removed text is not visible anymore.


Please understand and read it carefully for it has many changes from the previous . And also this will be strickly enforced by PCA starting from Cebu Open competition onwards.

I am reading this right now and I must say that this is a very big change.

Big changes: The cube's not going to be covered anymore post-inspection (really, really good), the half-turn metric is redefined, and multi-BLD's rating format has been changed to solved-minus-unsolved format.

The paper-between-blindfold-and-cube method should really be implemented, but I'd rather that heavily tinted goggles be used. Still, that's unneeded expense on WCA/organizer's part.

Definition of competitor's area <-- Para di tayo nagkakalat katulad nung Diliman Open, haha.

Definition of qualification round <-- Would totally help lalo na't ang dami na rin ng PCA.

No B Finals <-- Which means kailangan mabilis na talaga to get to higher rounds.

Two handed inspection for OH solves <-- Oo nga naman, bakit nga naman kasi dapat isa lang.

For BLD, cuber must be the one to remove the cover of the puzzle <-- Hmmm. Aksaya sa precious seconds pero kung reasoning nila, organisation, fine. Haha. Pero sobrang taliwas nito. Sa changes, ito lang siguro ang ayaw ko. It should still be the judges. Para namang natanggalan na ng responsibility and judge maliban sa record of time and magtakip ng papel. Kung ganun rin lang, why not let them keep the job of covering the puzzle?

Over-all, ok ang changes ng WCA Regulations. Thanks sir Jonathan for posting this.

When I read this, naisip ko na this is so that hindi makakapag pre inspection yung bld cuber prior sa pag start ng time. Kasi kitang kita nya na yung orientation nung ibang parts ng cube kahit before niya pa bitawan yung timer .

Ang tanga ko naman. Haha. Sa bagay, instant inspection ng 7 edges yun kung kita ang F at U face, which gives an abnormal advantage lalo na for people like Lucas Garron and Pochmann. Haha.
