Re: What 2x2 method do you use?
I still use the Fridrich way of solving the 2x2, with one look OLL and one look PLL and I hold the Philippine 2x2x2 Record
I average 6-7 seconds in my house, and I was so nervoused during the last Cebu Open 2008 )
My best average is 5.86 seconds and fastest time is 2.15 seconds.
This is what I do, I start of with any color. If I will start of with any color, I then averagely solve the first layer in 7 moves. I orient the last layer averagely in 7 moves and permute the last layer averagely in 11 moves. So total of 25 moves average.
And I have planned my 2x2 LBL system carefully that I will know if I will have a PLL skip after I do the OLL, so whenever I have a PLL skip, I will not pause for a while then stop the timer, thus saving 0.5-0.7 seconds of my time cause I notice some people, when they have a PLL skip, they will pause for like 0.5-0.8 seconds then stop the timer because they were shocked. I hope those tips I mentioned above will help you guys go below 7 seconds. And don't forget to have a good 2x2, like mine, cause mine when you put it flat on the table, and turn the top layer with the finger once, the top layer will spin rapidly for like 19 revolutions.

Re: What 2x2 method do you use?
I use East Sheen, but i have popped it twice already... haha! That is why it is so loooooooose.
@bonoan1027
I don't use the Ortega method, I still use what almost everybody uses, which is the Layer by Layer. I just modified and systemized it so I would save sometimes. Before I modified the lBL system, I average 9 seconds on 2x2. After I modified and systemized my LBL for 2x2, I suddenly got to 8 seconds average. And with some practice, I got to 6 seconds average now. I am going to abandon this method now and go for the Guimond ( Peace ). And I will then average 5 seconds, and with practice again, I will go to 3.9 seconds average, bwabhahhahah!!
I popped my 2x2 then assembled it, when I a ssembled it, it got soooo loose. Actually I lubricated my 2x2 east sheen, then the time I popped it, I completely removed the silicone and it got smoother a lot. If I never popped my 2x2, I would still average 7 seconds right now and may be average only 9 seconds during the last Cebu Open 2008 which is not a National Record for 2x2:D

Don't pop your 2x2 because it is seriously harder to assemble than the East Sheen 4x4.

Re: What 2x2 method do you use?
@Brian
I just learned Guimond. practice na lang.
better protect your national record cause i'm going head on (as if makakaya ko yun) You're not using Ortega which is the 3rd fastest 2x2 method pero mas mabilis pa time ng LBL fridrich mo kesa sa Ortega ko pare. ^^ wowowiwaw

Re: What 2x2 method do you use?
I can do guimond now too, but I am too busy right now to optimize my Guimond
@Bonoan
Ortega is the 3rd fastest? Then which is the fastest and 2nd fastest?
