A DIFFICULT DECISION

thank you sa napakagandang reply kuya pajo.
i guess magrereview nalang ako para makasama ko sana ang mga cubers ng UP sana makapasa ako sa august..

im experiencing that also right now, but different situation, basta naguguluhan na din ako, gusto ko sumali, gustong gusto pero may lakad ako, di ko alam kung pano ko magagawan ng paraan, tapos may work pa ko ng sunday... hay ang hirap... pero mgagawan ng paraan yan, once in a lifetime lang yung rcpo2008, kasi kung next yr, 09 na yun, hehehe, pero sa situation mo, hmmm... mahirap magdecide kasi alam ko pakiramdam kung gano kagusto sumali sa event na yan tpos review pa kalaban mo sa UPCAT... hay... 1 week na lang... we have to decide tlga...

OT. Ang daya naman, 2 1/2 years nakakaraan simula nung gumraduate ako ng HS, pero bakit hindi ko ma alalang nag take ako ng UPCAT. ano ba yun?

@immiscible - Ang edukasyon, ang syang mag dedesisyon para sa ating kinabukasan. Kaya dapat habang bata pag yamanin. Pero kung magagawan mo ng paraan makapunta sa RCPO, bakit hindi.

ako may pasok ako ng sat 8:30am to 6pm aLL major subjects..
gusto ko ng makagraduate kaya uunahin ko muna studies ko.. btw may juLy 6 pa akong maabutan kahit sa finaLs man Lang makapanood ok na ako dun eheheheh

OT. Salamat po now alam ko na. Kaasar lang talaga, parang di ata ako nakapag take nun. Pero nakapag college ako. wahehehe

pwede b a magexam ulit sa upcat kapag bumagsak ka? well kung pwede man..iba parin ang nakapasa sa first time magtest..kaya review muna kung ako tatanungin..

I'm not sure if someone ever actually took an UPCAT for the second time. So, ibig sabihin ba nun, hindi muna siya nag-aral ng college, at naghintay ng isang taon para makapag-UPCAT ulit? I mean, if you don't pass the UPCAT, instead na maghintay ka ng UPCAT for next year, you might as well pick na lang another quality college/university. Diba?

ahah..most probably ganun nga po cguro ang nangyayari.. kasi may post dito na "every year naman ang upcat"..ayun nga..why waste one year of your life to wait for another UPCAT opportunity kung pwede ka naman magaral sa ibang magandang university..

i'm not sure eh. I'm from UP but i really wanted to study sa Ateneo for College hehe, i just don't have the derbs. Pero ngayon, ang tuition sa UP mas mahal pa kesa sa UST and other private schoole (pero may bracketing system naman depende sa ITR ng parents mo.) Pero, if you're rich, you'll pay as high as P1,500 per unit!! If you're not well-off, P0.00 per unit naman, ganun ka-extreme.

T@!#!n@ng TOFI talaga yan. Yung sinabi mong 1500 per unit yun na binabayaran ng mga freshies at mga bracket A sa STFAP (Parang wtf nagpaSTFAP ka pa tataas pa!) sa UP ngayon!

Actually sa Ateneo mga 3-6k na ata per unit ang average.

San ka ba mas magkakaroon ng magandang buhay??? RCPO or UPCAT review??? kasi admission test yan eh isang beses mo lang magagawa e yung RCPO kasi meron pa next year... bakit may UPCAT pa ba next year??? diba??? pero sa akin lang naman yun eh ewan ko lang sayo pero I suggest na UPCAT yun unahin mo kasi dun ka may future sa speedcubing para sakin hobby lang yun...

aral muna kung ako sau....ung rcpo....once a year? ede next year ka na lang sumale

Well, after reading all the previous post, it is obvious what you chose na, so isisingit ko na lang ito sir...
To make things easier for you, why don't you "adjust" yourself mentally from your decision. Meaning, think of the situations 4th dimensionally.
Like...Kunwari ako nasa sitwasyon mo.."iisipin ko na lang na hindi ko nabalitaan itong RCPO and I am unaware na may ganito palang contest, tapos tuloy lang ako sa cubing and studies like normal days.".
...why? Because subconsciously maaapektuhan ka pa din kahit napili mo na si UPCAT and the focus is not 100% na...

Yun lang po. This is base on some of my experiences in a somewhat similar situation...(in terms of eagerness)

during freshman orientation..sabi sa amin ng emcee...we should be very proud..kasi sobrang hirap daw makapasok sa diliman campus..sa katunayan..diliman passers DAW ang "top" rankers sa upcat..(not counting of course intarmed qualifiers na napunta sa UP manila to take medicine)..nd ako sure dito ah..it's possible na sinasabi lang nila samin to para mag aral kami ng mabuti..haha..not sure about dun sa percent per subtest..but it's gonna be hard..so study well..hehehe..

pero punta padn ako... kasi i've managed to talk to the head and explain myside...

she told me i'll still mark you absent but i'll give you the module for that day and you can go study for yourself cuz if i'll give you the module on friday for saturday's 8AM - 5PM review then scrwe that! hahaha (that's what she told me) hahaha

you can try to talk to your review prof and try to negotiate things...

Well actually dont try to make a choice if you can make both...

But of course there are only some circumstances which you can make both of your choices (kung pumayag)

72k nagtake. 3xxx ang pumasa. Sa amin yun ah last last year pa...

about 4-5percent pass "UPD" every year and yung pinakaextreme na ang case ni RE1MUR### (whatever ur username is). which was 72000 UPCAT takers and 3,000+ passers. take note: passers, not enrollees. yung iba pa diyan eh malamang nag-ACET/USTET/DLSU exam (di ko alam tawag eh) din at dun na pumasok.

sa case ko.. above 65000 ang nagtake at 3000+ din ang pumasok ng UPD..

but around 10,000 naman ang pumapasa sa ibat ibang campuses... yung nga lang hindi na UPD.. U'l have to make good grades to shift to a course in UPD...

yeah! yeah! tama ka! though im not sure kung tutuloy siya... haha

tama nga sila. sabi nga nila, UPCAT mas mahalaga..
pero kung Review un at tingin mo eh di kawalan un at makakapasa ka sa up, then RCPO cguro,.
pero mas maganda parin cguro na unahin mo muna
kinabuksan mo.
timbangin mo mabuti.
goodluck. mahirap magkamali sa mga oras na to.
